2026 - XIAN

China Merchants Xi’an Bay is located on the western bank of the Ba River in Xi’an, reinterpreting the spirit of Chang’an civilization through a contemporary architectural language. Rather than replicating traditional elements such as dougong brackets or flying eaves, the project translates the imperial capital’s order, ritual rhythm, and urban scale into spatial sequences that can be physically perceived—through circulation structure, proportion, light and shadow, material weight, and refined detailing.
